Greece beats Hungary in water polo World League Qualifiers (VIDEO)



Greece has beaten Hungary in the first game of the European qualification round 1, Group A, in the women’s water polo.


The Greek National Women’s Water Polo Team scored a 15-14 victory over Hungary in the World League qualifiers that took place at the “Antonis Pepanos” swimming pool in Patras.


The 15-14 win against Hungary was down to penalties (etc. 11-11) with the Greek team initially trailing behind the Hungarian team in the first three eight minutes, with Xenaki equalizing the score at 8-8 shortly before the end of the third period and at 6΄04΄΄ before the end,


Myriokefalitaki scored with a fantastic turn from the position of fullback giving a 9-8 leads to the Greek national team.


The game from there on turned into an exciting thriller with the Hungarians equalising before the Greek team took the lead again in the score.
