Syriza-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras met with visiting General Secretary of Cyprus' AKEL party, Stefanos Stefanou.
They discussed developments in the Cyprus issue and AKEL's positive proposal for a fair and sustainable solution, said the main opposition party's announcement.
Another issue discussed was attempts by Turkey and the Turkish-Cypriot leadership to overturn UN Resolutions on Cyprus reunification, and illegal actions in Varosha, it was added.
They also stressed the importance of resuming talks from where they left off in Crans-Montana, in view of a bizonal and bicommunal federation based on political equality, abolition of guarantees and the withdrawal of occupying troops.
