Y. Chatzitheodosiou elected president of Greek chambers union

Yiannis Chatzitheodosiou, president of the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen (EEA), was unanimously elected new president of the Union Of Hellenic Chambers Of Commerce, replacing Constantine Michalos who died suddenly, shocking the business and political world.

In his address, Chatzitheodosiou said he was assuming duties at a critical time for businesses, hit by the pandemic and recent catastrophic fires. He referred to his predecessor, whose hard work had left an indelible stamp on the chamber, and said his first act would be to visit the areas damaged by the fires to ensure the union of chambers has a full picture of the difficulties faced by businesses.

"I call on representatives of all chambers to unite in order to ride out the storm and to lead entrepreneurship and the economy to new paths of development. We can only achieve this through unity," he said.
