The Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand has announced a national campaign to raise funds for the devastating earthquake that took place on the island of Crete and in particular the prefecture of Iraklio.
“Our National Board and constituent organizations have embarked on a National Campaign which will run until December this year, in order to raise funds in support of our brothers and sisters in Crete.
“The Federation Executive has had direct contact with the Governor of Crete Mr. Arnaoutakis, the Bishop of the region Metropolitan ANDREAS, as well as the Mayor of the Region Mr. Fragakis as well as other local authorities who are keeping us up to date with events as they unfold and will guide us appropriately on assisting the people that need our help. Funds raised may possibly go toward the rebuilding of the Village School or Medical Centre.” said Mr Tony Tsourdalakis, President of Cretan Federation of Australia & New Zealand.
