Festive mood at the Acropolis Museum
Interactive festive programs for children, evening walks in the exhibition spaces, Christmas carols, Unique gifts in the store and sweets in the restaurant will give special moments to young and old at the Acropolis Museum.
Audio-narratives about strange divine births
The wisest goddess was born from her father's head! The strongest of all heroes, still an infant, drowned in his crib two huge snakes! Strange, true, but so fascinating are the myths of the ancient Greeks! The Museum invites children and their companions to take part in the interactive festive program on the birth of divine children, to express themselves through music and to create an audio setting that will frame the narrative. The program is carried out in collaboration with the music / music educator Hara Asimina in the context of the participation of the Acropolis Museum in the intergenerational seminar 'Across Generationsorganized by Goethe - Institute Athens.
Days & hours: Wednesday 29/12 & Thursday 30/12, 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. Participation: For children 4-11 years old. Free entrance for children & 5 euros for parents / guardians.
Evening walk and traditional delicacies
The archaeologists of the Museum are waiting for you every Friday at 8 p.m. (with the exception of 24/12 and 31/12) on a charming walk through the halls of the Museum, to meet with them the fascinating stories that hide the treasures of its collections (pparticipation: 5 euros). You can complete the experience of visiting the Museum with lunch or dinner at the restaurant on the second floor, choosing dishes from our festive menu (from 16/12 to 6/1). Every Friday and Saturday until midnight (with the exception of 24/12, 25/12, 31/12 & 1/1) we are waiting for you at the restaurant for dinner overlooking the illuminated Acropolis! Strange creatures at the Acropolis Museum
Every Sunday (with the exception of Sunday 26/12), we are waiting for you with your children to discover with them Ippalektrion, the Centaurs, the Typhoon, the Triton and many other strange creatures. Creatures of land, sea and air, creations of the imagination of the ancients, invite to a game of exploration, observation and knowledge. Leaving, the children take home the materials to create their own strange creaturesατα. Send us photos of your creations at acropolismuseumkids.gr.

Hidden stories of 20 +1 masterpieces
We invite you to discover together with the archaeologists the hidden stories of 20 + 1 masterpieces, every Saturday (except Saturdays 25/12 and 1/1). Myths and legends, beliefs and traditions, historical landmarks and human stories are transformed into art and weave an experiential experience in a special walk in its exhibition spaces.

Music and gifts
Combine your visit to the Museum with coffee or dessert in the restaurant with panoramic views of the Acropolis and Christmas carols. ΤM Sunday, December 19 at 12 noon enjoy the famous Wind Orchestra of Ilio Music School and Thursday December 23, corresponding time, Christmas carols by Rethymnon Diving Club of Crete. Leaving, go through the store, where you will find beautiful decorations and ornaments for your Christmas gifts. Offer the charm of the Museum, inspired by the pomegranate held by the Daughter 593 as an offering to the goddess Athena, as a symbol of fertility, prosperity and good luck.
