Demi Moore has been vacationing around Greece recently and became a godmother to a Greek child on Saturday.
Moore was one of three godmothers to the child of Andrea and Athanasia Steggou, who was christened Ariadne Zoe on the beautiful island of Crete, in the town of Sitia.
The baptism occurred in the church of Agios Nikolaos in the Cretan port town. The baby being christened had a slightly unconventional ceremony, as she was blessed by not one but three godmothers!
Joining Moore in becoming Ariadne Zoe’s godmother were Christina Psillidou, who is married to well-known London investment banker Dimitris Psillidis, and Veronica Francescu, married to the owner of Nammos Mykonos.
The three godmothers were dressed beautifully in white dresses, with charming wreaths of flowers adorning their heads. The Hollywood actress was, according to reports, open and charming during the ceremony. This was certainly a trip to Greece that Moore will never forget.
The official Facebook page of the town of Sitia posted a message marking the special day and baptism.
“Baptism with the actress Demi Moore as godmother in Xerokampos, Sitia, in the chapel of Agios Nikolaos. A baptism, which is a special honor for Sitia in general. The couple Andreas and Athanasia Steggou christened their daughter, who was named Ariadne-Zoe.
“The little one has three godmothers. She was christened by Christina Psillidou, wife of Dimitris Psillidis, who was an investment banker in London for years, and Veronica Francescu, wife of the owner of Nammos. The third godmother, who gave another dimension to the ceremony, is Demi Moore, the actress.
“Let us wish this event to be the starting point for similar events but also business ventures in our area. The Steggou family has invested and will invest again in our area. They act as an example that must be continued.”
Hollywood actress island-hopping
Moore has been in Greece for a while now, and is joined by her daughter Rumer Willis. Rumer is the product of two famous parents, as her father is prolific actor Bruce Willis, with whom Moore was married for 13 years.
Moore and Willis began their trip in Athens, where they were photographed visiting designer stores in the city’s upscale area of Kolonaki.
Moore then updated her fans on Instagram, sharing that she and her daughter were enjoying a boat trip near the island of Santorini on July 4. She wished her followers a “happy 4th from Santorini!” as she celebrated the national holiday an ocean away.
This trip marks Moore’s second time in Greece, and she is reportedly planning to visit the islands of Paros and Mykonos as well during her stay.
