KINAL leader Gennimata strongly criticises government

Opposition Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata on Tuesday strongly criticised the government and the measures announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), in an interview with public broadcaster ERT.

Gennimata said that the announcements for young people were a mockery and added that, despite his assurances to the contrary, Mitsotakis is considering early elections.

The leader of KINAL stated that "in the shadow of the pandemic, the government is building a country for a few. This is our main objection to the measures announced. They give little to the many and much to the powerful."

Regarding the measures to alleviate electricity rate increases, she stressed that no one in Greece has understood exactly what is going to happen. "Three ministers have said three different things to what the prime minister announced. It is the first time that after so many days a government announcement cannot be made specific.

I have many doubts about whether the average Greek family will be truly supported, and not just families but also the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises that were buffeted by the ten-year crisis and the memoranda," Gennimata said.
